Undertaken research that led to a video documentary recording entitled “My Incredible Experience” showing the young people’s experience on the streets of East London.
Research for the Russell Commission on the experiences of young ethnic minorities in Newham, which led to the setting up of V, a national semi government organisation that encourages youth volunteering.
We have undertaken work with primary schools in Newham which led to the production of “My Incredible Journey” a collection of poems documenting personal histories and experiences of primary school children in Newham.
Consistently achieved above target across all projects that we have delivered; engaged over 600 young people in volunteering over the last three years, for an average of five hours a week;
We engage over 600 young people a year in our a activities and our activities have always been oversubscribed including in big venues like the Old Stratford Town Hall in Stratford and the East Ham Town Hall.
We have got to know the young people and our targeted beneficiaries better. This has included young people on the verge of joining gangs, in gangs or those affected by gang activities. We have listened to them and worked with them to effect changes in their lives. We have enabled them improve their behaviours, stay in education, cope better with the challenges that they face, set targets and worked hard with them to achieve their targets whilst influencing policy and practice.
