An opportunity for a challenging and exciting job has arisen on our establishment. We are looking for a Young People’s Health Facilitator. Based in Stratford, you will be leading on and delivering our mental health project, targeted at the BME young people, 15 to 25, from the deprived neighbourhoods of Newham and the neighbouring boroughs, by bridging the gap between the mainstream provision and the BME communities, to increase their access to high quality mental health services, in order to improve their mental health.

Ideally, you will be a youth worker with relevant experience of assessing young people’s needs, helping them set targets and working with them to achieve their targets. In addition, you will at least have two years relevant work experience, working with young people with mental health problems, facilitating groups, undertaking outreach, managing volunteers and with excellent communication and organisational skills. Personal experience of use of mental health services and a good understanding of the London Borough Newham and its diverse needs would be an added advantage.
